Doctor Who Season 14, which stars Ncuti Gatwa in his first full season as the Doctor, premieres on Disney+ on May 10 and the BBC on May 11.
Revealed on Disney's website, this marks the first time a season of Doctor Who will appear on Disney+ and premiere simultaneously worldwide. The first two episodes arrive at 4 p.m. Pacific / 7 p.m. Eastern in the U.S. and internationally, meaning 12 midnight on May 11 for those in the U.K. Brits won't be able to watch on Disney+, however, but instead must use the BBC iPlayer or wait for its BBC One airing later that day.
"This season of Doctor Who follows the Doctor and Ruby Sunday (played by Millie Gibson) through infinite adventures across time and space in the TARDIS," reads the official plot synopsis. "From the Regency era in England to war-torn futures, the duo champion the forces of good while encountering incredible friends and dangerous foes."
Gatwa's run as the Doctor technically kicked off on December 25, 2023, with a special episode called "The Church on Ruby Road." This episode is dubbed "Special 4" on Disney+, and fans looking to get started with the new season may want to watch it before May 10 to be fully ready for the new season. It was the final of four special episodes celebrating the show's 60th anniversary.
"At last, it’s my great delight to unleash a whole new season of the Doctor and Ruby’s adventures together," said showrunner, writer, and executive producer Russell T Davies. "Monsters! Chases! Villains! Mysteries! And a terrifying secret that’s been spanning time and space for decades. Don’t miss a second."
The show also stars Aneurin Barnard, Anita Dobson, Yasmin Finney, Michelle Greenidge, Jonathan Groff, Bonnie Langford, Genesis Lynea, Jemma Redgrave, Lenny Rush, Indira Varma, and Angela Wynter in guest roles.
