Animated TV shows have done well to expand on the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, but both the mainline canon and Legends comics have done just as well telling stories from this era. Barring Revenge of the Sith, the Prequels tend to have a divisive or underwhelming reputation. Still, Marvel and Dark Horse Comics paved the way for various gap-filling stories in this fascinating era of the Galaxy.
