Currently, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars are the trajectory that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is building up to. It will be a far rockier road than previous crossover movies, however, as the shared universe's best days are seemingly behind it. A loss of quality and behind-the-scenes shifts have placed a major damper on the once well-oiled machine, with the director for the next two MCU Avengers movies unknown. Ironically, the best director for the job is someone who's been involved with these movies from the start.
