Netflix has revealed its live-action castings for more One Piece Season 2 characters such as Captain Smoker and Tashigi, and in doing so confirmed Danny DeVito will not star.

Revealed on X/Twitter, Captain Smoker, who was briefly teased at the end of Season 1 of the adaptation, will be played by Callum Kerr. He's appeared in Flowers in the Attic, Monarch, History of a Pleasure Seeker, and more.

Captain Smoker's sidekick Tashigi will be played by Julia Rehwald, who's most prominent roles come in Netflix's Fear Street films. Dalton, a character closely related to the highly anticipated reveal of Tony Tony Chopper, will be played by Ty Keogh.

Finally, Rob Collletti, who's perhaps best known for playing Dewey Finn in School of Rock: The Musical, will play Wapol, putting to end rumors and hopes that Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Devito would play the Munch Munch man.

Many fans looked at DeVito to play Wapol after Iñaki Godoy and Jacob Romero, who play Monkey D. Luffy and Usopp in One Piece, declared him their dream guest star appearance for Season 2.

Netflix is moving hard and fast with the One Piece castings, having already revealed that Game of Thrones and Marvle alumni would join the cast this month, in Clive Russell as Crocus and David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3.

Other castings include Werner Coetser as Dorry, Brendan Murray as Brogy, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, and Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9. Jamie Lee Curtis is all but confirmed to play Doctor Kureha too, but this isn't official yet.

Little else has been said about Season 2 since its renewal in September 2023, though Netflix is reportedly targeting a 2025 premiere date with filming expected to begin in June 2024.

It will certainly present some interesting challenges for the Netflix team as it introduces the aforementioned, three foot tall human/reindeer hybrid called Tony Tony Chopper to the main cast of characters. It's also played around with some expectations regarding another major Season 2 character, which will likely be fully addressed at some point during the season.
