Sympathetic characters and serial killers are rarely ever one and the same in slasher movies. Horror fans are just not meant to feel sympathy toward figures like Freddy Krueger and Michael Myers, who mercilessly murder their victims. However, that description doesn't fit Sam in You Might Be the Killer, as it's fair to say he's the most sympathetic slasher ever.
