Batman has basically become the flagship superhero character for DC Comics over the almost 90 years since he was first introduced in Bob Kane and Bill Finger's Detective Comics #27. However, it would be hard to argue that even the best eras for the character's history were free from controversy. Everything, from terrible writing decisions to bad choices made by the hero himself, has left fans divided on the hero.
