The latest version of the IGN Playlist collection tracker and backlog management tool is now out on the App Store and Google Play. If you’re already using it, be sure to update to Version 1.2.7 to add the latest features, including one of the most requested ones: Steam library import.
If you’re new to IGN Playlist, here are the basics of our free service. By installing the iOS or Android app, you can easily track the games you care about by sorting them into game library status lists. You can tag games you’re actively playing, mark them as being in your backlog, paused, beat, or quit. You can then tag any game with the platforms you’re playing them on and rate and review them. There’s also a separate wishlist that makes it easy to bookmark the games you’re looking forward to and sort by release date.
Want to make your own lists and share them with friends? No problem. You can create custom playlists from scratch – ranked or unranked – and share them with friends (or, if you’re doing this all for yourself, you can make it all private, too). Lists can be sorted any which way, by ranking, date, platform, IGN review score, and HowLongtoBeat time – letting you know exactly how long it takes to complete any eligible game on your lists.
Your lists are stored in the cloud using your free IGN user account, you can then also add games right from the IGN website – or across multiple mobile devices.
The 1.2.7 version adds a few upgrades:
- Steam library import: if you’ve got a Steam account and want to speed up adding your games to Playlist you can now access this import function from the PROFILE tab in the app. Use your Steam ID and (optionally) a Web API key and you can populate your backlog with every Steam game that we can match to the IGN DB. Using multi-edit (long-press in the app), you can then easily batch-move games to other lists. This is only available in the app.
- Comment sections on your custom lists: do you want to add more context to your lists or have conversations with friends about your choices? Both the app and the web versions of Playlist now support commenting. Want privacy? You can turn off comments anytime.
- Sort by My Ratings: we added IGN-style numeric ratings to Playlist with our last update. You can now sort any list (not just your own) by your own personal ratings. This feature is currently exclusive to the app version.
We’ve also improved performance, so the app should be faster, and we’ve fixed a few bugs our awesome Playlist Discord Community has submitted. We also added a fun new awards feature to the web version of IGN – but you can directly influence it from the app. By reviewing your favorite games, you can help populate our “Icons” Hall of Fame list. Only the best games get included; and it’s all powered by your rankings.
You can find IGN Playlist on the App Store, Google Play, and on the Web
