The Hunger Games is rich in interesting characters with strong backstories, even those who only make brief appearances. That spilled over into the movies, which benefited from a terrific cast in roles both large and small. The various tributes in the Hunger Games — young people selected from subjugated Districts in a totalitarian future society to fight to the death in an annual blood ritual — speak volumes despite having limited screen time, largely because of the strong actors cast in the parts.
