Gaining widespread popularity after its 2019 anime release, Beastars was serialized in the Weekly Shonen Champion from 2016 to 2020. Inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, there's a large cultural divide in the Beastars world between carnivores and herbivores and a law against eating meat. Both the manga and anime are well-regarded, with the final volume releasing in February 2023 and a third, final season of its anime releasing next year.
