The way television is watched may have changed, but audiences aren't all that different today as they were nearly 40 years ago. Thanks to streaming services, "old" shows find new audiences all the time. Suits became a hit on Netflix in 2023, despite the legal drama ending its run on cable in 2019. Moonlighting, which just debuted on Hulu, ended 30 years before Suits, but it could become a massive hit once again. Despite existing for more than a decade, streaming as a mainstream "content delivery" system is still relatively new. In fact, it took television three times longer to gain that kind of dominance over the entertainment marketplace.
