You might want to get your muting button ready, as Deadpool & Wolverine spoilers may just start to leak beginning tonight (Monday, July 22).
The latest in the MCU has its official premiere tonight in New York City, in addition to several other press screenings in major cities, marking the first time it’s being shown in full to a significant audience ahead of its official July 26 debut. Previously, press outlets including IGN had only been shown the first 35 minutes of the film.
Those who are lucky enough to see Deadpool & Wolverine tonight will be able to start sharing their reactions to it on social media starting at 7 p.m. PT, while the embargo for official reviews will be up tomorrow (July 23) at 3 p.m. PT.
In addition to possible plot spoilers, cameo appearances could be revealed merely by actors appearing on the red carpet – this was the case earlier this year for one big actor in Dune: Part II. Meanwhile, some Deadpool & Wolverine appearances (potential spoilers in the following links) have already been revealed in the movie’s marketing materials. Basically, if you’re worried about spoilers, now is the time to either log off social media or mute the necessary keywords.
Deadpool & Wolverine’s official red carpet premiere kicks off what will be a bonafide MCU bonanza of a week, highlighted by San Diego Comic-Con. Marvel Studios has several plans for the annual convention this week, including its big Hall H panel on Saturday and a Deadpool & Wolverine “Celebration of Life” to commemorate opening night on Thursday. We’ll be expecting all kinds of announcements out of that, so stay tuned to see what we learn about the future of the MCU.
In the meantime, be careful out there. While you wait for your chance to actually watch Deadpool & Wolverine, check out our take on why it should be a farewell to Fox’s X-Men, not an invitation.
