It's safe to say that 2023 has not been the Marvel Cinematic Universe's year. Lackluster box office and offscreen controversies such as the abuse allegations against actor Jonathan Majors have slowed the media juggernaut considerably. A few bright spots stand out, such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3, which was largely well-received and Loki Season 2 has similarly struck gold late in the year. But clearly all is not well for the reigning king of the pop-culture cage. Rumors have swirled about big changes, refocusing, and otherwise ensuring that 2024 doesn't look like 2023.
