With Prequels such as Crystal Lake and the scrapped script of Freddy Krueger, a Scream prequel would be a fantastic addition to the horror genre. If done right, prequels for the horror genre can do good at the box office. Films like Prometheus, Prey, and Paranormal Activity 3 have taken the reins of this and run with it. As for other Slasher prequels, there has been little to no way to exist thus far. But with Camp Crystal Lake taking a whack at a Jason Voorhees origin story, another more popular and arguably more relevant horror series could also do one.
