Ready to see Michelle Yeoh high-kick her way through another fast-paced action project? In just a few short months, we’ll be treated to her new Netflix series The Brothers Sun—and in the new teaser for the show, she’s more badass than ever before.
Netflix released the first sneak peek footage on November 10th, which reveals that the show’s tagline appears to be “Mama knows best,” referring to Yeoh. The 40-second clip features a ton of great action sequences, and even a moment where Yeoh seems to put a drill bit into an enemy’s body. Pretty intense stuff.

There’s no official synopsis on Netflix as of this writing, but the Tudum synopsis does seem to give us some insight on what to expect.
The Brothers Sun follows Eileen, the wife of a Taiwanese triad kingpin (Johnny Kou), who escaped her home for Los Angeles after provoking the ire of some of the most vicious gangsters in Taipei. When an attempt is made on her husband’s life years later, however, Eileen knows she’s in danger again, too. Her older son, Charles, who’s followed in his father’s footsteps, joins her in California to protect her and his younger brother, Bruce — who’s grown up blissfully ignorant about his family’s shocking business. Each of the Sun brothers harbors his own secret dream, but they’ll have to survive the life they were born into if they ever want to start living lives they make for themselves.
The series was created by Glee and American Horror Story creator Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu, with Falchuk being credited for development and Wu being credited for writing the series. Yeoh stars alongside Highdee Kuan, Sam Song Li, Justin Chien, Jenny Yang, and Joon Lee. Kevin Tancharoen, director of the 2009 Fame remake, will helm the project.
The teaser trailer also gives us the release date for the series, which will arrive on Netflix on January 4, 2024. Needless to say, the show looks pretty fun, so it looks like we've got something exciting on our watchlist for the new year.
