Revered director Steven Spielberg's adaptation of author Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park went on to become a cultural landmark in the film medium, but recent installments have ventured too far into the "monster-movie" approach. The original movie was a tasteful Hollywood approach to Crichton's acclaimed sci-fi thriller that fits within a theatrical PG-13 context, pushed technological filmmaking boundaries, and — most importantly — still kept the sense of awe-inspiring wonder of having these animals roaming in the modern era.
