Japanese anime often features the best romance stories in shojo and josei anime, such as Fruits Basket and Wotakoi, but shonen anime gets plenty of love stories, too. Romance is a much-needed way to add personal depth to the combat-oriented shonen demographic, and it pays off when authors include it.
