Secret Invasion is the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the first to feature Skrulls in a prominent manner since 2019's Captain Marvel. The movie was notable among fans of the comics for turning the shape-shifting aliens into sympathetic, fairly benevolent characters. This was a far cry from their more explicitly evil portrayals in the comics, and the new series showcases why this change may have been a mistake.
