Long before Ahsoka debuted on Disney+, the return of several Star Wars Rebels characters had been confirmed for the new series. However, one Rebels character from the series premiere came as something of a surprise. Fans had already known Ahsoka Tano would be reuniting with Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla and Chopper, but the former Jedi's return to Lothal also saw one of the Ghost crew's major allies make his live-action debut. Introduced on Star Wars Rebels' second season, Ryder Azadi had a history with the Empire, Lothal and Ezra Bridger's family.
