Resident Evil is no stranger to the small and silver screen. With seven live-action movies, four feature-length CGI releases, and two Netflix shows, it has had more than enough chances to crack the code for a proper adaptation. Every attempt has had its charms that fans of the series enjoy and reintroduce characters with the proper wink and nod. What every adaptation finds difficulty in translating, though, is the very genre that was brought to prominence by the release of Resident Evil onto the PlayStation in 1996: Survival Horror.
