While old-school cinema fans would hold some of the Jaws movies as the standard in the shark genre, modern audiences have gravitated to the likes of The Shallows, and to an extent, Sharknado. Meg 2: The Trench middles the ground, mixing serious tones with more slapstick comedy. Thus, there are some ridiculous moments that defy science.
