Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast imprint is hosting an important livestream today for fans of Dungeons & Dragons. Called D&D Direct 2024, it kicks off at 9 a.m. PDT (noon EDT) on YouTube and is expected to promote the upcoming launch of the revised 5th edition ruleset.

In a post on the D&D Beyond website, Wizards noted three main topics for Tuesday’s livestream. First is the launch of the Player’s Handbook (2024), which begins with early access on Sept. 3 before a wider release on Sept. 17. It will also talk about “The Future of D&D,” a section that will include news about “thrilling challenges, familiar realms, and formidable foes.” Finally, there will be a discussion of Project Sigil, the new name for the highly-anticipated virtual tabletop platform entering closed beta this fall.

Wizards will also likely add additional clarifications to how it will manage change on the D&D Beyond digital app. Users were recently thrown for a loop when they were informed that manual workarounds would be required to get 2014-era content working in the soon-to-be-revised 2024 version of the app. Late Sunday, those proposed changes were rolled back. Polygon will have additional coverage following the event.
