DC Studios revealed its new logo at San Diego Comic-Con and its an homage to Milton Glaser's DC Comics logo that ran from 1977 to 2005.

James Gunn posted the logo on X/Twitter and said, "when Peter [Safran] and I formed DC Studios we immediately knew what logo we wanted to use."

As we previously mentioned, the original logo this new one was inspired by debuted in 1977 and was designed by Milton Glaser. It was lovingly referred to as the "DC Bullet" and was used all the way through 2005.

This is obviously a loving tribute to the past, and, at DC's Jim Lee & Friends Panel at SDCC, Lee had a few words to share to express his excitement over this moment, per THR.

"Definitely for me, and many generations of fans, that particular logo defined DC in its heyday,” Lee said. “I remember during the renaissance of DC in the 1980s, with Watchmen, Dark Knight Returns, The Shadow coming out, that was the DC logo. In the minds of many fans, that is the mark that defined the DC brand. It’s exciting to bring it back.”

It was also confirmed this logo will begin appearing on comics, toys, and merchandise beginning in October 2024.

DC Studios also unveiled the motion graphic that will introduce its future movies, which will all kick off with July 2025's Superman. Instead of quick cuts of our favorite DC characters, the team opted for a simpler one that focused on a Superman drawing by his co-creator Joe Shusteer coming to life and busting out of chains. At the end, the new logo appears.

The panel also unveiled the teaser trailer for the Max Original Series known as Creature Commandos, which will premiere this December as the first official DCU project.

The footage features a general arriving at a prison and visiting the Non-Human Internment Division, and we get a good glimpse of The Bride, Dr. Phosphorous, Weasel, GI Robot, Nina Mazursky, and Frankenstein.
