After a brief return to form after the pandemic, San Diego Comic-Con will be a different experience in 2023 than in recent years. Thanks to the ongoing labor disputes with studios and the rise of other conventions, Marvel, DC and other large franchises won't be in attendance. While fans celebrate SDCC focusing on comics mostly this year, losing the studios could be a catastrophe for the organization. As always, the root of the problem is money.
