Hell's Paradise is an unforgiving and merciless anime, that follows a group of samurai and their charges, criminals who are given a chance at redemption if they can go to an island and bring back and deliver the Elixir of Life to the shogun. The island, believed to be Shinsenkyo, has a landscape that is vibrant yet full of terrifying monsters called Soshin, creatures that are part human part animal, and part God; it is also where the line between life and death is blurred. Here, the life of every Yamada Asaemon and the criminal they are assigned to is on the line as they traverse the perilous island in search for the holy grail that is rumored to be deep within it.
