Over the decades, as CGI grew in popularity, it left little room for practical effects to grow. Star Wars is a great example, with its prequels leaning heavily into new technologies. However, there's always been an allure to practical effects that, when used properly, could even enhance CGI scenes. Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park showed this well, as the line that divided both mediums was almost invisible. But even before computers reached a level to affect movies, practical effects created their own monsters that redefined creature features. Perhaps the best example of this, even today, has been Spielberg's 1975 blockbuster, Jaws.
