One of the biggest problems Dragon Ball fans have with the franchise is how little death matters. This is mainly because the Dragon Balls can be used to wish anyone who met an untimely demise back to life. There used to be limits on who could be brought back and how many times someone could be resurrected, but those limits have been removed. Even the Super Dragon Balls can be used to restore universes that have been erased from existence. All of these problems are compounded in Dragon Ball Super; since it's a midquel, nobody in the main cast who shows up alive at either the end of Dragon Ball Z (or somewhere in Dragon Ball GT) can be left dead by the end of it. In these regards, death has no consequences or meaning.
