For October Prime Day, Amazon is offering Amazon Prime members a Zotac GeForce RTX 4080 video card for only $989.99. This is the first time we've seen an RTX 4080 GPU drop below $1000. A base model RTX 4080 retails for $1199.99, so you're saving at least $200. This particular Zotac RTX 4080 GPU has a higher MSRP ($1300) because technically it's an "OC" model, but the actual overclock is negligible.

You can read our GeForce RTX 4080 review for the full breakdown, but the RTX 4080 is NVIDIA's second most powerful card. The only card more powerful is the RTX 4090, which costs $600 more. This card excels at 4K gaming, even with settings maxed out and raytracing turned on. It's about 20%-30% more powerful than the RTX 3090 Ti. Because this is a current gen RTX 40 series GPU, it supports DLSS 3.0 and 3.5, which can significantly boost your framerate with minimal visual impact in games that support it. It also has 16GB of VRAM, which is great for 3D rendering, AI art, or anything else that requires alot of VRAM resources. It's more than capable enough to run PCVR as well.
Aftermarket RTX 4090 video cards are generally overbuilt in terms of cooling, and they all do a good job of maintainig reasonable temps in your PC. The Zotac model is no exception with its massive triple-slot triple-fan cooler design. Ports include 3 x DisplayPort 1.4a and 1 x HDMI 2.1a, all of which support 4K @ 120Hz. DisplayPort 1.4a can also support 240Hz over 1440p and 1080p.
There are very few Prime Day GPU deals right now but it's still early. This is probably going to be one of the best deals we're going to see. We'll add more GPU deals as we find them in our Prime Day megapost.
