Spoiler Warning: The following article features spoilers for Peacemaker Season 1.
DCU show Peacemaker Season 2 will once again star Robert Patrick as star the father of John Cena's titular character.
As reported by PopVerse, Patrick said during a Tampa Bay Comic Con panel that he had been filming a big scene for Peacemaker Season 2 just a few days prior with Cena and DC Studios co-CEO and Peacemaker Season 2 writer James Gunn.
"I was with John on Friday. We’re filming Season 2," Patrick said in the first confirmation of his return. "I was just working with James Gunn on Friday. James is amazing. He’s one of the most talented people I’ve met in my life. Incredible mind and just a wonderful human being. I love him and his wife Jennifer Holland. We were doing a big scene for the second season of Peacemaker on Friday right before I came here."
While Gunn has already said Peacemaker Season 2 "essentially picks up where Season 1 left off" despite some small changes due to the change in canonical universe, this news might raise the eyebrow of fans of Season 1.
This is because, final spoiler warning, Patrick's character dies in Season 1. The maniacal supervillan otherwise known as White Dragon is killed by Peacemaker in the show, though returns at the end as a ghost to haunt his son.
It's perhaps in this same ghostly form he returns in Season 2, though with some changes afoot, it's unclear if White Dragon will return proper.
Peacemaker Season 2 has already begun filming but no release date has been revealed by Gunn yet. And though it wasn't announced as part of the original 10 projects in the DCU's Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters, it will almost certainly arrive ahead of some that were, likely as the third or fourth release.
