Barbenheimer is here, and all my local theatres are sold out for a solid week, so it's a good thing I booked in advance. The hype is real, both films are marvelous, and cinema is well and truly back. It's a time for celebration, so I brought some more good news. American Prometheus, the book that inspired Christopher Nolan's three-hour epic biopic, Oppenheimer, is currently discounted at Amazon.

The book is available for just $15.99, over $9 off the $25 MSRP list price, and is eligible for rapid Prime delivery if you're a member. This is wonderful news, as I expect many of us will be chomping at the bit to delve further into the fascinating and deeply troubling story of J. Robert Oppenheimer. This is a Pulitzer Prize-winning, New York Times bestselling, definitive biography of Oppenheimer and a "riveting account of one of history’s most essential and paradoxical figures" according to Chris Nolan himself.

But, if you're more inclined to listen to an audiobook, we've got you covered there as well. Currently, Amazon Prime members can get three months of Audible Premium Plus at absolutely no cost. That's right, there's no cost, and it will immediately include a credit that you can use to listen to (you guessed it): American Prometheus.

Not everyone is eligible for this deal, but it's worth clicking the link just above to check and see if you're a Prime member. This offer will also expire on July 31, so there's a bit of a countdown at play here as well.

That's a couple of great options you've got to choose from there if you're looking to further explore your newfound interest in J. Robert Oppenheimer. We've even left a handy link just here to the Audible deal, or the discount on the biography in print as well. Otherwise, Nolan's screenplay for Oppenheimer is also up for preorder at $16.16 (down from $17.99) and will release on August 1.

The dual-opening of Greta Gerwig's Barbie and Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer on July 21 prompted people to buy tickets to both movies to watch as a double feature, smashing box office records and sparking a bumper weekend for cinema in the process.

Critically, both films are thriving. We called Barbie a "masterful exploration of feminity and the pressures of perfection," in our 9/10 review, and Oppenheimer we dubbed "Christopher Nolan's most abstract yet most exacting work" with a 10/10 score. These Barbenheimer t-shirts also seem to be doing the rounds on social media as well, if you want to look the part when attending your double feature.
