For October Prime Day 2023, Amazon is offering this massive 85" Hisense U8K 4K QLED Mini-LED Smart TV for only $1799.99. That's $400 less than the previous lowest price we've seen and $900 off the current MSRP. The U8K is Hisense's highest-end TV of 2023 and is probably the best looking 85" TV under $2K. It's also a perfect complement for PS5 and Xbox Series X gaming consoles.

The Hisense U8K TV comes with all the premium features you'd expect from a flagship TV. The U8K boasts a Mini-LED panel with quantum dot technology (QLED) and wide color gamut (ULED). The QLED panel enables this TV to retain strong color accuracy and good dynamic range even at peak brightness levels. The local dimming feature allows different zones to dim or brighten independently of each other, thus allowing the TV to deftly handle scenes where the brightest whites and the darkest blacks occur simultaneously. Mini LED panels allow for even more precise dimming because the controller zones are smaller and more numerous. This is where the U8K boasts the greatest improvement over last year's U8H. The new U8K has almost double the dimming zones compared to the U8H.
The U8H was a very bright TV (much brighter than OLED TVs), and the U8K remains the same. The U8K can output up to 1,500nits of peak brightness. That makes HDR content look really good, but it also has other practical uses, like being able to use this TV in a very bright room with no light control, or having enough brightness to overcome reflection and glare.
The U8K makes for a solid gaming TV for the current generation PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers. That's because it comes equipped with a native 120Hz refresh rate and HDMI 2.1 inputs. What that means is that it will output 4K @ 120Hz through the PS5 or Xbox Series X console. The U8K also has other welcome gaming centric features like variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode.
