The Ronnie Leatherman era of The First 48 is formally over -- and the A&E series won't ever be the same. Season 24, Episode 4, "Unforgotten: Ben" focused on a now-retired Leatherman discussing one of his open cases with Detective Lacy Lansdowne. While it didn't come as a surprise since Leatherman's retirement from Tulsa Homicide was made public in 2022, the episode served as the on-screen send-off for one of The First 48's most well-known and beloved detectives... and highlighted the reasons for his popularity.
