20th Century Studio's hit animated TV show Futurama is a dazzling blend of humorous science fiction tropes and familiar sitcom storytelling methods. In some ways, Futurama might feel like an excuse for science fiction fans to poke fun at the likes of Star Wars, 2001: A Space Odyssey and even Dune, but the show never forgot its sitcom roots.
