Capcom's Devil May Cry is one of the biggest franchises in gaming, which makes it all the more surprising that it was originally developed as Hideki Kamiya's vision for Resident Evil 4. Resident Evil would ultimately take a very different approach with its sequel, which has benefitted the gaming industry as a whole with the birth of Devil May Cry. Now, more than two decades later, Devil May Cry has spanned six games and invaded many other mediums with its rich lore.
