Since joining the X-Men, Ms. Marvel has spent much of Ms. Marvel: The New Mutant grappling with the realities of Fall of X. She died, lost her entire sense of her own identity, and has been left to work with a group of mutants poisoned by loss and a bitter desire for revenge. For Kamala Khan, the situation has become even worse. She has the same disadvantages as the other mutants, but she lacks the benefit of having an extra power. Instead, she is left to defend her newfound people with nothing but her Inhuman powers.
