Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball Z has been at the top of the shonen game for over three decades, and it has inspired some entertaining video games based on the franchise. The latest of these games, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, distills the entire series into a passionate open-world action RPG experience. First released in 2020, the game has since released five DLC expansions over the past three years. This wealth of new material fills in certain corners of the Dragon Ball Z universe, and includes its TV specials and Dragon Ball Super's introductory movies.
