It's a wonderful kit for both adults and kids alike; the interactive nature means that it retains its entertainment and educational value well after the build is completed.

The Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit set is a small-ish kit measuring 9" high, 12.5" long, and 7" wide. It's comprised of 526 pieces and is marketed for ages 10 and older; it's a pretty simple build that can be completed in a few hours or less and can be accomplished by both kids and adults alike.
What's really awesome about this set is the interactive nature of this build. Once completed, you can turn a crank to watch the Earth orbit the sun and the moon orbiting Earth. This is a great learning tool for kids who want to (1) see how the orbits correlate with months and seasons, (2) how the position of the moon and sun relative to the earth govern moon phases and (3) how a simple set of gears can work to create separate but synched orbits. It's a fun set for adults as well and definitely worth the modest asking price compared to many other LEGO sets that are essentially one-and-done after the build is completed.
