Tananarive Due has been a star creator of horror for decades. She has been nominated for and won multiple awards for her works throughout her career, including the Ember Award for unsung contributions to the genre at the 2022 Ignyte Awards. Due's work has appeared in her novels, her own short story collections and multi-author anthologies such as Black Panther: Tales of Wakanda and Out There Screaming: An Anthology of New Black Horror, edited by Jordan Peele. She also has lent her expertise to many examinations of the horror genre such as Shudder's Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror in 2019. However, Due had not crossed over into the world graphic novels until 2022 with The Keeper (by Tananarive Due, Stephen Barnes, Marco Finnegan, Alexandria Batchelor and Dave Sharpe).
