Astro Boy is one of the most iconic manga and anime characters ever introduced in fiction, with his creator Osamu Tezuka being seen as the godfather of anime as a whole. Essentially analogous to Disney's Mickey Mouse, Astro Boy (Tetsuwan Atom in Japan) is in many ways the pride and joy of Tezuka's legacy. Sadly, legal issues at one point forced the artist to create an arguably lesser version of the boy robot.
