Jujutsu Kaisen has a painfully high mortality rate. Season 2 alone made anime fans endure the pain of losing beloved characters like Riko Amanai, Mechamaru, and Kento Nanami. Manga readers have also suffered losses like Mai Zenin, Masamichi Yaga, Yuki Tsukumo, and Tsumiki Fushiguro. Even main characters like Satoru Gojo and (possibly) Nobara Kugisaki aren't exempt from dying tragically before the series ends; Gege Akutami even promised he'd either kill off one or leave one alive. This has left many fans concerned for the future of Megumi Fushiguro. Since his possession by Ryomen Sukuna, his life was presumably intertwined with the King of Curses'. Therefore, the only way to kill Sukuna would be to kill Megumi.
