George Lucas' Skywalker Saga has served as the backdrop for the Star Wars franchise since it began in 1977. After completing the original trilogy, Lucas released the prequel movies which, while controversial and far from perfect, were a marvel of CGI. These movies were also known for their interesting characters, all of whom featured in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The show improved upon virtually every prequel character except one key figure.
