Crystal Dynamics has revealed a first official look at the Lara Croft redesign presumably debuting proper in Tomb Raider Next.
As reported by Polygon, a Tomb Raider website was launched February 14 (which is Lara's birthday) to celebrate the franchise. While a remastered collection of the first three games launched February 13, the website also gives fans a quick look at the heroine's future appearance.
The image, below, shows Lara in her classic pale blue tank top and brown shorts, equipped with two handguns and some other survival tools.
The design looks a lot like a Lara Croft model released in Call of Duty in 2023, essentially confirming fan suspicions this was the new, unified version of Tomb Raider.
The next mainline game in the franchise is currently being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and known as Tomb Raider Next. Amazon Games is supporting development, though little has been said about it since its announcement in April 2022.
It will be the first new entry since 2018's Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which wrapped up a trilogy of games during the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One generation. This series reset Lara Croft's origins in a grittier setting, but it's unclear how Tomb Raider Next will fit into the equation.
