Paramount’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem sequel film now has a release date of October 9, 2026.

Original director Jeff Rowe is returning for the sequel, with Point Gray Pictures also attached to produce. Paramount also announced today, ahead of its earnings call this afternoon, that Paw Patrol 3 will release on July 31, 2026; Liam Neeson's Naked Gun reboot will come out on July 18, 2025; original musical Better Man will release widely on January 17, 2025 (after a limited run starting on December 25, 2024); and Novocaine, starring Jack Quaid and Amber Midthunder, will premiere on March 14, 2025.

While fans have to wait more than two years to see the Mutant Mayhem sequel, there will be some TMNT content to snack on in the meantime. This summer, Paramount+ will premiere an animated series titled Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The show sees Nicolas Cantu, Brady Noon, Micah Abbey, and Shamon Brown Jr. reprise their roles as the title turtles and takes place after the events of the first film. If the series isn’t enough, then the upcoming video game spinoff should help tide audiences over, too.

We gave Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem an 8/10 in our review. We praised its animation, music, and performances, adding, “Even if the superhero tropes the story plays with feel worn, the enthusiasm with which Mutant Mayhem tackles them always wins out.”

Warning: Spoiler for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem below.

Little is known about how the Mutant Mayhem sequel will continue the half-shell heroes’ journey, as no plot details have been revealed.

However, those who stuck around through the credits of last year’s animated hit will remember that it came with a post-credits stinger teasing the introduction of the classic turtles villain, Shredder. Rowe has even spoken about the character’s inclusion, promising that he will be “100 times scarier than Superfly.” It’s unclear how or when the sharp foe will appear, but it seems there's at least has big plans to reintroduce the beloved villain.
