Zack Snyder took the Gamescom Opening Night Live stage tonight to reveal the first trailer for Rebel Moon, his upcoming sci-fi film coming to Netflix.
He also announced when Part 2 of his Rebel Moon saga would be released: April 19, 2024. As previously announced, Part 1 will debut on December 22, 2023.
Both Snyder and Netflix are said to be putting a lot of investment into Rebel Moon, with the Man of Steel director saying in a recent interview with Empire that, in addition to the two movies already revealed, there have been talks of other feature follow-ups and even a TV series. Plus, his wife and co-producer already confirmed that both parts of Rebel Moon will be getting director's cuts, years after the phrase "Snyder Cut" entered the cultural lexicon.
And while we unfortunately didn't see any of it today, Zack Snyder also previously said that Rebel Moon is getting a video game adaptation at a "ridiculous scale". Famously pitched as a Star Wars movie that Snyder then turned into an original idea, we can only imagine what else Snyder has in mind for Rebel Moon.
If you need a catchup, here's everything announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023.
