Calvin and Hobbes began as a simple cartoon about a boy and his stuffed tiger having adventures together. Over time, however, it grew into one of the most popular and beautifully-crafted comic strips ever to appear in newspapers. Even though new Calvin and Hobbes strips ended in 1995 after a decade in newspapers, the comic has kept its immense popularity, and its compilation books are still selling.
