The fifth installment of Mike Flanagan's Netflix horror series, The Fall of the House of Usher, is an adaptation of many of Edgar Allan Poe's short stories. Poe has been widely regarded as a master of horror and even helped invent the modern detective story, even though his works could be seen as dated, being that he was a writer in the 1800s. However, The Fall of the House of Usher brings these nineteenth-century stories to the twenty-first century, adapting the setting, the characters, and the themes to a more modern environment.
