As The Fall of X has continued to ravage the world of the X-Men, the literal mutant world of Arakko has also been devastated by the return of its former leader, Genesis, who has been using the Staff of Annihilation, and her legion of warriors, to retake control of Arakko (which is now the planet formerly known as Mars). At the end of the previous issue, Storm arrived to fight Genesis with the mutant island, Kaorak, and X-Men Red #18 features that dramatic battle.
