Dragon Ball Super’s ongoing manga has extended the series’ story far beyond the events of its corresponding anime. Akira Toriyama and Toyotarou’s manga has introduced new villains, allies, and transformations that put the Tournament of Power to shame. The Dragon Ball Super manga’s latest story arc adapts the events of the anime’s newest feature film, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Some audiences were initially discouraged to see the manga repeat itself, so to speak, by recapping events where the audience already knows the outcome. However, the manga is able to expand upon and amend certain moments from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero so that they’re even stronger. Chapter 95 of the manga, “The Ultimate Teacher and Pupil,” does exactly this when it comes to Piccolo’s grand transformation.
