It’s a new month (August 2023, for those following along on their calendars), which means a new batch of LEGO sets is now available. Scratch that, a whole bunch of new sets are now available. The sets are based on superheroes from Marvel and DC, Star Wars, Sonic, Mario, and much more. There’s a lot to cover this month in LEGO, so let’s dive into it.
LEGO The Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter Microfighter
First things first. While other sets out this month are certainly bigger, none of them are this adorable. It's also one of the most affordable sets out this month, making it even easier to pick up on a whim.
LEGO Captain America’s Shield
Perhaps the coolest set out this month is this large display piece depicting one of the most iconic items in the MCU. It’s Cap’s shield, and it looks phenomenal. It comes with a sturdy stand, a display placard, and a Captain America minifigure.
LEGO Wolverine Adamantium Claws
Cap’s shield is iconic for the modern MCU crowd, no doubt. But ’90 kids who grew up with the X-Men will find Wolverine’s claws just as iconic. This set has you build a Wolverine hand, complete with metal claws extended, bub.
LEGO Art: The Amazing Spider-Man
This set is pretty awesome. It’s a display piece meant to be hung on a wall. It depicts Spidey in all his wall-climbing glory, and since it’s made with LEGO bricks, he’s actually crawling right out of the frame. Very cool concept and execution.

It’s not cheap (it’s really far from cheap, in fact), but this giant crane actually works. It features movement that works just like the real thing, and you can control it using the LEGO Technic Control+ app.
LEGO Tales of the Space Age
This one is new to Amazon this month. It’s a set of four “buildable postcards” that are three-dimensional. I think it looks great.
LEGO Icons Tranquil Garden
Maybe it all springs from the name of this set, but I get a comfortable sense of tranquility when I look at this one. It’s a Japanese-style setting with a tea service set in a pavilion, an arched bridge over a serene koi pond, and appealing trees overlooking the scene. It just looks peaceful, and not only do I want to build it, but I also want to go there and hang out for an afternoon.
LEGO Icons Corvette
Fans of classic cars will get a kick out of this one. It’s a LEGO re-creation of the 1961 Chevrolet Corvette C1 model. You can even build it as a hard-top or an open-top, depending on your preference.
Believe it or not, there are even more LEGO sets out this month, including a whole mess of new LEGO DREAMZzz sets aimed at the 6 - 12 year old crowd. You can find all the new LEGO sets on Amazon or on the LEGO Store, depending on your shopping preferences.
