Historically, the Skrulls are some of Marvel's most sinister villains. The aliens were the Fantastic Four's second villains, after the Mole Man, and they've become one of the team's most iconic villains. Kl'rt the Super-Skrull took things a step further in Fantastic Four #18, when he first appeared with not only the Skrull race's signature shapeshifting powers but also the FF's powerset, combined into one powerful body. Now Secret Invasion, on Disney+, is importing a similar concept into the MCU.
