Netflix has announced nine new cast members for The Sandman Season 2, including comedian Steve Coogan and three actors with Game of Thrones on their resumes.

Perhaps most notable of those is Jack Gleeson, who will play Puck, "a malevolent hobgoblin who serves as the royal jester to King Auberon of Faerie." Gleeson is best known for playing Joffrey Baratheon on Game of Thrones from 2011-2014, after which he took a hiatus from acting. He's had a number of small roles here and there recently, including in Netflix's Sex Education and the BBC's The Famous Five, in addition to theater work.

Also on the Thrones front, Clive Russell, who played Brynden Tully in the HBO hit and was recently cast in One Piece Season 2, has joined The Sandman as Odin. Laurence O'Fuarain has been cast as Odin's son, Thor, and his credits include a Season 5 episode of Game of Thrones, as well as Fjall the warrior in The Witcher: Blood Origin. Freddie Fox will round out their family as Loki.

Coogan, meanwhile, will play the voice of Barnabas. Also of note is Indya Moore, the model and star of FX's Pose, as Wanda. Rounding out the announcement is Ruairi O’Connor as Orpheus, Ann Skelly as Nuala, and Douglas Booth as Cluracan.

Today's casting announcement is only the latest for the second season of the Neil Gaiman adaptation. Previously, Netflix cast the remaining Endless family members: Esme Creed-Miles as Delirium, Adrian Lester as Destiny, and Barry Sloane as The Prodigal, aka Destruction.

They join returning cast members like Tom Sturridge, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Patton Oswalt, Vivienne Acheampong, Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, Ferdinand Kingsley, Stephen Fry, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Vanesu Samunyai, and Razane Jammal.

We're still, however, waiting for a Season 2 release date. In the meantime, check out our 9/10 review of Season 1, where we said, "Netflix’s The Sandman brings Dream and his Endless siblings to life in a way Neil Gaiman and longtime fans could only conjure up in their deepest of sleeps."
